Meeting Minutes:

Minutes of the meeting held April 2nd 2007

Meeting started 7:10pm

Members Present 14

Apologies received Len Spaans and Malcolm Isherwood

The treasurer reported a balance of £X was in the bank.

The membership secretary reported fees of £X had been received.  Rob reported that the badges for next season were currently in the design process with the supplier.  He also recommended that for next season we should use plastic credit cards style membership cards.  He had a quote come in for under £X per card and for that it included the raised embossed style text and could be numbered sequentially.  The meeting agreed that we should use them for this coming season.

The chairman announced that the Open Day and all the activities planned for it had been cancelled due to Lancashire County Council and a ruling on the safety certificate.  The lottery grant had finally been approved for an amount of £X, but this had not been cancelled yet as Rob was hoping to speak to them about the cancelled event and see if any of the funds could be transferred to other activities.

Supporter of the year voting will take place from this weekend onwards.  It was agreed that voting by Private Message on the Supporters Club website would be used and verified by an independent third party (Karen Fazackerley).  We would also set up camp in the club bar after the next home matches and take votes from that. It was also decided to try to put something in the next programme, although this may prove difficult with Rob Heys being absent from work and the bank holiday looming.

The meeting agreed that as a club we could promote a gentlemen’s and a ladies evening for next season.  Rob had had a quote from one company that provide two dancers at a cost of £X per event.  Pete also mentioned that we should look at providing a comedian for the evenings as well, and that they could act as compare.

It was agreed that the Supporters Club should provide a sum of money for an award to Paul Mullin in recognition of his impending club appearances record.  A figure of £X was recommended and that Chris Grimshaw was willing to present the award.  We would present it at the next home match in which the record was achieved either in the bar after the game or before the match.  We would also re-present it at the presentation evening. Rob again mentioned the planned merchandise operation.  An open invitation was sent to the meeting to attend an external and informal meeting the following week for all who had an interest in this venture.

Matt Osborne announced the plans for the Supporters Club website and its impending make-over.  Another open invitation was given for contributors to the updating of this site.

In line with the cancellation of the Open Day, the Presentation Evening could now be moved back to a Saturday.  The night of the 28th was agreed as being the ideal night. Rob to speak to Vicki the following day to check whether that date was available or not.

Meeting closed at 7:55pm
